Born and raised in a small town in the United States, Kristy Gabres grew up with a passion for sports. As a young girl, she was always active, playing everything from soccer to basketball. But it was volleyball that truly captured her heart. Kristy's parents, both avid sports fans, encouraged her to try out for her school team, and it was there that she discovered her natural talent for the game.

"There were definitely times when I doubted myself or felt like giving up," Kristy admits. "But I always came back to why I started playing in the first place – for the love of the game. When I focused on that, everything else fell into place."
