Lucie Better: Czech Amateurs

Growing up in Prague, Lucie was always interested in sports, but it wasn't until she discovered cycling that she found her true passion. "I started cycling with my friends when I was 18, and I was hooked from the very first ride," she recalls. "I loved the feeling of freedom and the challenge of pushing myself to go faster and further."

Cycling in the Czech Republic has a rich history, dating back to the early 20th century. However, in recent decades, the sport has experienced a resurgence in popularity, with a growing number of young riders emerging from the country. According to the Czech Cycling Association, the number of licensed cyclists in the country has increased by over 20% in the past five years, with a significant proportion of these riders being amateurs.
